We Are Marshall Review (DVD)

About?: In 1970 after a football game the team from Marshall University flies back home, the whole team get on the plane except for coach Red Dawson (Matthew Fox) . On the way home the plane crashes and everyone on the plane dieds. The school was going to suspend the football program, but with the help of most of the students they continue with the program with the new head coach Jack Lengyel (Matthew McConaughey).

My Thoughts: We Are Marshall is a great film. I enjoyed every minute of it. I think this is Matthew McConaughey's best performance to date, he does a great job, especially in the beginning were i thought he was really funny. The score was excellent from the times when they would be playing football they were playing drums from a band. Just like you would hear if you were at a real game which made you feel you were right there in the action. I thought We Are Marshall looked great too. There are times during the games were I thought the scenes looks gorgeous. I really enjoyed this film.

DVD Content: The DVD comes with in one disc and is presented in widescreen 2.35:1, with English Dolby Digital 5.1 and 2.0 Stereo and a French 5.1 track. The special features include a "Legendary Coaches: How the Coaches Overcome Adversity" and a theatrical trailer. The features runs around 131 minutes.

DVD Thoughts: The DVD is pretty bare compared to some other DVD out but the Legendary Coaches feature was entertaining and its around 30 plus minutes. I would like to have seen some more extras but that not the case. So it hard to recommend the DVD.

Overall: We Are Marshal is a very good film. From start to finish it had me hooked the performances were stellar the cinematography was excellent and even up to the score. While the film section was good it did lack however on the extra features side I thought. All in All this is a great film and recommend this just for the features I give We Are Marshall a:
4 out of 5
