Ghost Whisperer: Season 2 (DVD)

About?: Ghost Whisperer is about a woman Melinda Gordon (Jennifer Love Hewitt) who has a special thing about her, that thing seeing the dead. Melinda as used her gift for the better to help those souls/ghost to finish what business they have back on earth and with the living. She helps them have closure so they can cross over into the light. The second season starts off right where one left off with the loss of Melinda friend, Andrea (Aisha Tyler) and continues along with the regular scenes of finding ghost and helping them with an introduction with a couple of new characters, a realtor named Delia (Debra Manheim) and a professor of the paranormal Rick Payne (Jay Mohr). As the season progresses thing get more and more dangerous for Melinda and as the season ends the forces of good and evil collide.

My Thoughts: The Second season of Ghost Whisperer compared to the first season I thought was a much better improvement. As being very sad that one of my favorite characters of the show Andrea was now dead aka a ghost after the plane crash near Grandview at the end of the first season I was wonder what's going to happen now. As the season goes on we meet Delia and she fills the place of the friend on the show. The one thing that I've really enjoyed with this new season was the addition of the Professor Payne who I enjoy watching. The scenes he was in are great the actor Jay Mohr who plays the character great with the great dialogue with melinda especially towards the end of the season. Ghost Whisperer also tends to have those good touching moments when the spirits and the family/friends talk and eventually cross over. This is one of those show that I always look forward to each week.

DVD Content: Ghost Whisperer comes in 22 episodes on 6 discs and is presented in anamorphic 1.85:1 widescreen. With English 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround, and there's also a English 2.0 Dolby Stereo. The Extras are Four Audio Commentaries on Selected Episodes: Love Never Dies, Children Of Ghosts, The Collector, Mean Ghost. A Crystal Ball Game, and a group of featurettes one including conversations with the cast and crew of Ghost Whisperer and a feature of the make up of the show, another about the costumes of Melinda. A section of the back story's of the ghost featured in this season. The DVD also contains web episodes of a sort of spin off of the show (The Other Side) and with a trailer. Finally a Behind the scenes feature and an animated painting of Jennifer Love Hewitt.

DVD Thoughts: The DVD of Ghost Whisperer is pretty good compared to most of the TV on DVDs out there one featurette is around 24 minutes and the others are around 5 to 10 minutes each. The features really make the DVD experience worth wilded. If your a fan of the show you will find much of the features interesting like myself.

Overall: Through and through Ghost Whisperer is a well directed and has good acting as well as in the writing of the show. It is truly a great show on television. The story at times does get repetitive, but as the stories continues more and more they start to tell a better story of the Good versus Evil and comes down with the cliff hanger at the end of season two and now I'm very excited for the start of the third season. I'm giving Ghost Whisperer Season Two:
4 out of 5
